MSI's EFI has been our primary focus with the company's Z490 boards as we're really not too keen on its latest Dragon Centre software. Thankfully, the EFI is just as slick and well-laid-out as it ever has been, with a great fan control section and nearly all overclocking settings on a single page, alongside a couple of subsections for parameters such as loadline calibration.
MSI's software has in the past proved a handy tool and at least usable, but the current version of its Dragon Centre still leaves a lot to be desired. There's the awkward installation where you need to download a separate SDK file and the software has the nasty habit of overriding whatever you set in the EFI, instead of doing the sensible thing and replicating it. The fan speed adjustment is fiddly, the interface is awkward and unintuitive and only the RGB software was worth using. We'd suggest giving it a miss and using the EFI instead.
